Apparently polish people don’t just drink vodka all day long anymore.  A friend of my Friend  Cetin:  KrazyKrzysztof  has a really awesome tech blog. On the blog he talks about new gadgets and its an awesome way to stay up to date, with a Polish twist. Here's one of his videos.  Check him out here.

Fiverr

posted by on 03.19.11 at 1:04 am

Fiverr.com is pure genius. It's a marketplace for $5 gigs. People can offer any service they want for the set price of $5. When someone makes $5, Fiverr cuts $1 off for their own profit. The site blew up like crazy... So crazy that there are more than 75 copy-cat websites out there. Here is a list of a few of those clone websites.

The idea is kind of brilliant and also entertaining. While you don’t necessarily have assurance that your task will be completed to your standards, you are only shelling out $5 for the task, so it’s not a total loss if the gig falls through or isn’t done well. Fiverr will also post buyer feedback on people who perform tasks. Task performers will be given a positive feedback score, which can be seen by users who are considering hiring them for gigs.

Why couldn't we come up with this idea... Oh well.

Does Japan owe its current robot technology to the Turks?

posted by on 02.11.11 at 4:32 pm

(the picture above is artists rendering of the robot and its maker from the 1900s)

So, I just read this article about how the Ottoman's sent a gift to the Japanese in the late 1800s. The gift was a clock which resembled a whirling dervish (almost at human size) which would sing the azan (islamic call to prayer) 5 times a day, spin, and it would walk forward and walk back to its original spot. Apparently, it was the first robot ever made in history, and some say, helped lead the Japanese towards a technological revolution. Click here to read the full article. Thanks Erdinc!

This kid must have been high out of his mind when he made this call. If not... I feel sorry for his family.
