Umbrella Changes Colors When Wet

umbrella-hydrochromatic-ink

Squid London rolled out a limited edition collection of umbrellas that have designs printed on with hydrochromatic inks. The color of the ink is dull and desaturated when dry but as soon as it makes contact with water, all the color comes out.

If you want to get one then you’re out of luck. They’re all sold out.

Man Finds Treasure Using Google Earth

posted by on 02.10.09 at 3:21 pm

treasure-google-earth Nathan Smith, a musician from Los Angeles, thinks he may have found a mythical Spanish ship that lost its treasure in south Texas. And he did this using Google Earth.

After spotting something using Google Earth, he drove over to Texas with metal detector in hand and said he got readings of gold and silver.

Despite finding what he thinks to be treasure, he is faced with numerous problems. The treasure is on private property. He needs investors to help him dig it up. And Texas already has documents claiming it.

That freaking sucks for Nathan. Poor guy.

Brolic Cows

These muscular cows look like they take steroids!

They’re called Belgian Blues and are the product of selective breeding. Farmers choose only the bulls and cows with the biggest muscle mass to mate. They use artificial insemination. This ensures that a special gene is passed on and causes the cow muscle to grow huge.

Check out this video by National Geographic. Warning: Cow porn.

Concept Cup Prevents Cup Ring on Nose

When trying to savor the last drops of your favorite drink, do you often find yourself hitting the cup ring against your nose?

If so, then the “Unose” by designer Amin Saadat is the perfect cup for you. While the cup itself is shaped like any other cup, a cylinder, the portion that actually contains the drink is shaped like a cone. This decreases the degree to which you have to tilt the cup upwards avoiding the whole cup-to-nose action.

The cup will probably be heavier and contain less liquid because of the way it is designed. And I think there’s something called a straw that completely depreciates the usefulness of this cup.

Candy Land Movie?

candyland

Variety says Universal Pictues has set Etan Cohen to write and Kevin Lima to direct a movie based on the board game, Candy Land.

Is it me or does this seem like a really stupid idea? A really really REALLY stupid idea.
