I was reading an article on gizmodo and found this little blurb:

The millions of Xbox Live players who were banned because of their modded Xbox 360 consoles may get a second chance with some firmware workarounds. Beware though, it's a complicated process.

First you'll need to get iXtreme LT, which'll attempt to return your console to a playable state. The catch is that you need to know your CPU code and that the instructions rely on a lot of different (free) tools.

Now I'm not sure if it even works, but it is definitely worth a try. Enjoy !

Aww dude, I just got b& over the past weekend. I've heard about iXtreme LT, but it's not out yet. I guess I'll give it a shot; I've got nothing to lose at this point.

ixtreme lt will allow you to play backed up games, its invisible to microsoft as long as your games are properly stealthed you should be safe. as for lt returning your banned console to a playable state, you will still be able to play backed up games, but not on live, you will need to get another console to get back onto live

Thanks for your insight, I had very little time to gather facts about it myself. Also, even if it'll let you play games that aren't on Xbox live, i'm sure that'll be helpful to someone out there.
