I posted about a brand named Defy Bags before that recycled old vinyl billboards and made bags out of them. You're probably wondering why in tar nation anyone would want to recycle old billboards. Well, you may not know this but the vinyl they used can not be used for anything else afterwards so they're just thrown in the landfill. What they do at Defy Bags with the vinyl can be seen here pretty neat stuff.

What do I think about their bags? I was lucky enough to get my hands on one and it just came in today! My first impression about the bag when it came out of its package was that this bag was tough... very tough, I mean this bag could take a heavy duty beating and still stand strong my second impression was having a bag that is recycled from old material is a lot cooler after you own the bag rather than just reading about it on a site.

So I noticed the bag was not like fabric but rather a tougher and stronger material. I threw in 13 water bottles in there just to give you a jist of how much it could hold. If you held 13 water bottles in a fabric messenger it would be irritating because of the flexible fibers and the odd shape of the water bottles...But not with the Defy Bags!

It fit my laptop perfectly, but the bag given to me was a floor sample, meaning it wasn't the 100% completed product. There are supposed to be inner pockets within the bag to separate into different compartments. Chris Tag, the owner of Defy Bags sent me a picture of how it should look like.

As mentioned before, the bag that was given to me was the Letter Press bag but they have a lot of other cool designs too! The picture on the right is the inside flap of the bag. I have no idea what it was supposed to be but the style of the graphic reminded me of the background right in the beginning of the old Pokemon intro...Don't ask why.

Chris Tag also informed me that Dave Matthews Band requested some bags from them which is awesome! The design of those bags are great and can be seen below. DANG I wish I had those bags!

One thing that I find totally awesome about their bags is that they are from different billboards so every single bag is different. It could be the same design but it'd still look different. Check out what the Chris Tag said himself in an e-mail he sent me!

Cool. Yours (and the ones on the site) were all shot from a run where most of the vinyl billboards were black...I'm reshooting all bags on the site to detail/show how all the outer 'bag bodies' vary per their original billboard that they're cut from...so people aren't misled. (people like them better that way, actually I've found)...
