Hello World. This is my first post for wtfoodge and it is going to be a review of the recent horror release Paranormal Activity.
First off i want to point out that the version I saw has a different ending then the version shown in theaters. You can wiki it cause I'm not gonna spoil either of them for you. The ending I saw was the original ending, the one shown in theaters is a new one.
Paranormal activity does a good job of taking something thats been done before and making it seem original and different. Demons, hauntings and exorcisms are nothing new to scary movies but this movies stands apart from others. First off, the plot. We learn that something has been messing with Katie since she was 8 years old. She and her sister would hear stuff and even feel a presence watching them but they could always tell it was focused on Katie. Kind of sounds like a perv demon but who am i to judge. Anyways, Micah and Katie have been together awhile and this stuff has started happening again. Micah wants to find out what is happening so he buys a video camera and sets it up in their bedroom to film them while they sleep. The movie then continues to show what happens at night while they sleep and how they try to deal with it during the day.
What makes this movie so different from others of its kind is its realistic feel. Its shot with only one camera and its either Micah or Katie who is filming. The dialogue between the characters also feels very real and unscripted. All this helps draw you more into the movie. The movie does a really good job of being suspenseful. The scenes that take place at night are scary while the ones in the daytime are a sort of break. Some people might not like this or think the movie gets boring. I will agree that this movie isn't for everyone. But if you're in the mood to watch a really good scary movie this should be your first choice. One last thing is that if you find yourself getting bored or restless just know that the end is the best part of the movie and will make the whole experience worth it.

I just watched it and thought it was pretty awesome (and creepy). I did some research about the endings and there are a supposed to be whole bunch of them but only 3 were ever shown publicly: the original, the one in theaters, and another alternate ending that was only shown once.
Anyway, I went to go watch the trailer again and I realized how many freaking spoilers there are.
Great movie the version ending i saw was crap. Micha gets it in the kitchen? honestly we wanted to see that. Then the police takes out katie. hmmm little lame... Great movie crap ass ending. wasnt sure if it was real or not dont follow these type of movies. but honestly impressed less the ending. SOOOO much potential to end with a bang or katie killing micha and then just bursting into flames like the ouija baord did. anything would of been better than that ending sorry guys if nobody likes it but it is true
