Ants Eating Gecko.

This sped up video of ants eating a gecko is pretty sick. The gecko is dead but just watching them devour the thing, and then move its bones around...It's like something you'd see in the movies with acid disintegrating the meat off of a corpse.

Suicidal Ants

Ants do not jump off buildings nor do they slit their wrists when they commit suicide. They run around in a circle continuously till they die from exhaustion. How awesome is that?

It’s called the ant death spiral. For some reason, the ants form a circle and just keep walking around and around. Because ants navigate by following other ant scents, more ants will join in on the circle of death. It isn’t until a group of ants break away that the spiral stops.

Here’s some more videos of this phenomenon.

AntWorks AntFarm from ThinkGeek Review!

posted by qtjoel on 03.21.09 at 5:52 pm Featured

After receiving my AntWorks Habitat from ThinkGeek, I did a review on it. This is what I've come up with.

  • It's 6.5 inches wide
  • 6 inches high
  • 1.5 inches thick
  • The Illuminated LED lights make it so much more awesome!
  • It comes with two magnifying glasses, I like the big one,but the little one is not that clear.
  • The ants take forever to come (but it was worth the wait)!
  • They eat the blue stuff (Their environment)!
  • Think Geek is awesome!
  • Not too shabby at $29.95

Order yours today! I recommend order your antsalive because it's cheaper and delivers faster!

NOTE: I tried making the video widescreen but it ended up being worse than if I were to do it like I regularly would edit the video so bare with me.

I Received my AntWorks Habitat Today!

I received my AntWorks Habitat from ThinkGeek today and I have yet to try it out! It doesn't come with ants (obviously because if they did, many ants would die waiting for people to order). It comes with an ant order form inside but I am too lazy to actually send it in by snail mail so I decided to order online. Some ridiculous websites charged $17 for 25 ants and they said the ants would take 2-5 weeks to arrive. I ordered them from Antsalive.com and they charged 5 bucks and said the ants would be here in 3-10 days! I can't wait! Video review should be coming up SOON!

I love ants! I'm a weirdo but I find ants to be quite the interesting creatures. I've posted about this in my old blog before and I'm posting it again! This AntWorks ant farm from ThinkGeek is AWESOME ($29.99)! I'm pretty sure they'd allow me to put it in my dorm, and if not I'll just hide it when the RA comes. OH MAN! I WANT!YouTube Preview Image
