yellowBird

What you see above is yellowBird. It's a video recording technology that uses a Google Streetview-like camera to record video so you can see them in 3D. Well, not reallly 3D. It's more like you get to see every angle of the video. It's probably the coolest thing I've seen in a while so definitely check out the demo video above.

Also, the URL to yellowBird's website is: http://www.yellowbirdsdonthavewingsbuttheyflytomakeyouexperiencea3dreality.com/. Awesome.

They are annelid worms

If you thought the video of the unknown organisms in the sewer was kind of boring without sound, here’s one with with a neat soundtrack. Makes it even creepier.

And according to Dr. Timothy Wood, a freshwater bryozoa expert, they’re just a clump of worms.

Thanks for the video - I had not see it before. No, these are not bryozoans! They are clumps of annelid worms, almost certainly tubificids (Naididae, probably genus Tubifex). Normally these occur in soil and sediment, especially at the bottom and edges of polluted streams. In the photo they have apparently entered a pipeline somehow, and in the absence of soil they are coiling around each other. The contractions you see are the result of a single worm contracting and then stimulating all the others to do the same almost simultaneously, so it looks like a single big muscle contracting. Interesting video.

Be prepared to get grossed the eff out. Some dude setup a remote controlled camera in the sewers and caught footage of some THING growing on the pipes. It’s probably just some sort of primitive organism but it’s freaky as hell.

After watching this video...All of a sudden I want a Samsung WB1000...It looks like such an awesome camera! Obviously the video was editted for awesome effects, but I did a little research on it. I don't know much about the specs but the aesthetics of it look great! I've heard about Samsung cameras being laggy though. You can read more about the WB1000 here.

Polaroid PoGo!

polaroid-pogo-digital-camera

If anything has been dead for a while, it's actual photos and sticky pics. Now everyone has a digital camera, uploads their pictures on facebook or flickr and calls it a day. What happened to 5 years ago when people were obsessed with sticker pics? Technology is what happened! Well, you've probably heard about it before, but now it's finally being released...the Polaroid PoGo!

Once known for their instant photos, Polaroid is coming back with PoGo...Kind of like the old Polaroid One Snap Camera but smaller and digital so you can actually look at the photos before you print them out. Here are some features.

  • Snap, print, share – no computer connections needed
  • 2x3" full-color, sticky-back prints
  • Smudge-proof, water-resistant, tear-resistant photos
  • No Ink. No Hassles.™ - no ink cartridges or ribbons to throw away
  • View and crop images on camera before printing
  • Option to print date, file number
  • Add a fun border to your photo including the classic Polaroid frame
  • Automatically save photos to camera or SD card for downloading
  • Print in about 40 seconds
  • Print up to 20 photos per full battery charge

If you want one it'll run you $200, and it comes out next month...Which is June...Which is in about 3 days. I'm going to see if I can get my hands on one!

Your Camera is 8 Megapixels? MINE IS 1,400!

panstarrs

So who other than MIT decided to build a 1.4 GIGAPIXEL camera? It's called the Pan-STARRS and is supposed to watch out for threats to Earth. What threats? I believe astroids, but I didn't read too much into it because I'm still in awe at how many 1,400,000,000 pixels are. The camera is in Hawaii and as you can bet it's the size of a building. What the heck kind of computer monitor is needed to see 1,400,000,000 pixels?! Check it out in the video!YouTube Preview Image
