A video about Chat Roulette

If you haven't been on Chat Roulette, you've been missing out. It's a website where you video chat with random strangers. You click next and you are instantly connected to someone from anywhere in the world. It's actually pretty cool for a while, until you stumble upon some guy tugging one out/buffing the banana/cranking the shank/etc. And another one. And another one. And another one and that's where you realize that Chat Roulette is just full of perverts with nothing better to do than gross you out.

In the video above, Casey Neistat uses some fancy science-y charts and stuff to show everything you need to know about Chat Roulette.

99 Things You Should Have Also Seen

posted by Chris on 02.15.10 at 8:24 pm

Greg Rutter has compiled a second list of 99 things you should have already experienced on the internet, unless you're a loser or old or something. Of course, you wont need to watch anything on this list because you've seen it already.

For the losers, old, and somethings: the first list.

Google offering 1Gbps broadband

Holy shit. Google has announced plans to deploy 1Gbps broadband to 50,000 to 500,000 homes in the US. Yes, one gigabit per second. Thats 1000 megabits per second. It will take you about six seconds to download a 700 megabyte movie, that is if your LAN speeds and peers don't hold you back. It'll be an interesting experiment to see how faster internet access will make the web better and faster and also what kind of apps will come out of it.

This infographic shows the speeds and costs of internet access around the world. At the top is Japan with an average broadband speed of 61mbps. AVERAGE. And it only costs them 27 cents per month for each mbps. We in the US are at #15, averaging out at around 4.8 mbps for $3.33 per mbps (that seems a little off).

Japan, why are you so awesome?
