As many of you know I play table tennis...A lot. But I've been on and I've been on hiatus and working out a little...But now I have the sickest urge to play after watching numerous videos on my spare time (I know I'm a nerd), but yoooo! That video above is pretty epic, and then it made me feel all soft inside...Then it inspired me...And then it was sad and happy and...I DON'T KNOW! IT'S TOO CRAZY!!!!

We've been talking a lot about Brodman Blades here at WTFoodge.com in the past. So as many of you know I play a lot of ping pong (Table Tennis) and Fredi Brodmann of Brodmann blades was nice enough to send a pair over for me to try out. [Read the rest of the review here]

This may look like a regular conference room table at first, but if you add a net to it, it becomes a TABLE TENNIS TABLE . I would like to work anywhere that would have such a luxury. I can imagine it now...No one can think of an idea so the boss calls for a doubles match to lax the minds of the workers.

Wow, so every year there is a USA Nationals for table tennis. For the past...As long as I can remember, it's been won by people who've been playing for years and years...people who are over 30 years old...So 6 of the 8 top players in the U.S. decided to boycott the event this year because they said the $3000 prize money was not enough (it's actually not after you count the airline fee to Las Vegas, the hotel stay, and the price for the event itself). So who wins it? No other than an acquaintance of mine named Michael Landers.

This KID is 15 years old and is USA national champion! Don't get me wrong though! He is really good but it's just VERY funny and somewhat encouraging to see such a young person win. Just to give you a hint of how well he did...My rating is 1908...His rating is 2377 (the higher the better), and that's BEFORE the nationals. He beat two 2500 players which means he will probably shoot up to 2500 making him a 15 year old who'll be top 25 in the U.S. Holy crap! Check out the list of previous US national champions here, NONE OF THEM WERE UNDER 20 WHEN THEY WON I DON'T THINK LOL.

Ever wonder how a world class tennis player would do playing table tennis? I have...Plenty of times! Looking at Serena Williams play, it's like she doesn't know what the heck she is doing! I wasn't really that surprised though considering tennis usually inhibits ones ability to play table tennis due to the different strokes. Well here, she plays Britains old champion Matthew Syed.

At first I thought, "who the heck is this clown... He looks like he has no idea what he's doing! Then I checked out his rating. The way that table tennis ratings work here in the US is the higher the rating...The better....Let's put it this way... My rating is about 1933...Matthew Syeds is about 2830. Dang.
