When I went to see Terminator Salvation yesterday, I was expecting another Terminator-like film, you know with one Terminator sent back in time to try and terminate Sarah Connor/John Connor but then John Connor sends back somebody to terminate the Terminator. But that’s not what you get in Terminator Salvation. What you get is a sort of larger scale of the Terminator world, showing the Resistance fighting off the dreaded Skynet network rather than just one Terminator. I enjoyed the majority of this movie but it does have its flaws.
The characters were not great and some were completely useless. For one, Barnes played by Common, is probably one of the most useless characters in a movie ever. He had about five lines and they all sucked. Moon Bloodgood’s character was terrible, especially the “oh, don’t get the wrong idea. I just want some body heat” scene. Terrible! However, Sam Worthington was great and I actually think he did a better job than Bale.
The dialogue was super cliche and cheesy, as expected from a movie like this. There were Terminator references all over. Speaking of references, Mr. Schwarzenegger makes a nice little cameo.
I found the eye candy especially nice, well it had to, seeing how their budget was $200 million. Giant terminator fights and EXPLOSIONS! There is lots of that.
After seeing the reviews for Terminator Salvation, I thought it was going to be another T3, but I’m glad it wasn’t. Overall, I thought Terminator Salvation was pretty good. It’s didn’t really live up to its hype, with Christian Bale’s meltdown and those incredible trailers, but it is still a good movie.

The last half of the movie was awesome, it dragged on in the beginning!! I hate useless romance in action movies, glad they didn't do too many John Connor/Kate Connor scenes.
